Dave's Comics is a comic book store located in the Village shopping center at the intersection of Three Chopt Road and Patterson Avenue. The store is in the center breezeway of the shopping center. The store's owner, Dave Luebke, made headlines in August 2009 when he sold a rare copy of Archie #1 for $38,837 in order to protest a story in which Archie proposed marriage to Veronica. In February 2011, Dave's Comics again made news by selling a previously unknown group of comics consisting of Batman #1 through #29. All copies were sold. The prime copies were auctioned by Heritage Auctions of Dallas Texas.[1]
