I have global communications equipment as a ham it would be good if the ham community would get involved if only for the safty of the large numbers of people gathering. Use a WRT54G or similar wifi router to share internet. Create mesh nodes for larger gatherings by flashing Freifunk firmware onto multiple routers. - - If local broadband is unavailable, use 4G or WiMax wifi routers to share the nominal bandwidth. - - Make sure to have a WPA2 password for the WiFi Connection!
